To fulfill the prophecy before his wedding, he attempts to murder his elderly aunt with poison, but the plan fails when the poison is untouched. He then tries to kill his uncle, the Dean, using a dynamite-filled clock, but this also fails when the bomb fizzles harmlessly. Finally, it's revealed that the chiromantist is a fraud, and Lord Arthur is free to marry his fiancée. |
